Glitz'N'Glam Dance Team offers dynamic dance instruction across a spectrum of styles, tailored for dancers in search of more focused training. Our goal is to provide excellence in training through a nurturing, caring and supportive environment.

Our Story

Glitz'n'Glam is born from a dream that the right instructor can make a difference in the dance community and give Saskatchewan families a new take on their dance training experience. Having taught at multiple studios over her career throughout Canada, Miss Laeticia has watched what has worked and what hasn’t including the wisdom in programming that will train top dancers in their divisions, and has seen the process work first hand.

With over 19 years experience as a dance instructor, choreographer, adjudicator and experienced dance mom, she has turned her passion for teaching into an intensive training team, and is excited to share our knowledge and educate the next up and coming dancers here at Glitz’n’Glam Dance Team.

Our instructors and guest teachers have a vast range of experience across disciplines. With nothing short of great scheduling, yearly assessments, top end dance training, pop-up classes, open ballet classes, guest teachers and more dance opportunities, I am so excited to welcome you into my dream team!

SAFETY -  Ensuring dance safety in a studio entails meticulous attention to the dance space, including proper flooring to reduce impact on joints, adequate lighting, unobstructed pathways and security at our front door. Additionally, maintaining a supportive atmosphere conducive to mental and physical health is paramount. This involves fostering open communication channels or students to express concerns, promoting positive body image, and providing regular breaks to prevent overexertion and injury. Educating dancers on proper warm-up and cool-down routines, as well as implementing injury prevention protocols, further contributes to their overall well-being, allowing them to thrive both mentally and physically in their dance practice.

Our Family

Meet Miss Laeticia Strydom

Director

RTS R.A.D (Ballet), A.D.A.P.T. (Jazz and Tap), PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique), CLI Studios Certified, Professional Adjudicator's Alliance

Miss Laeticia, a highly experienced Ballet and Jazz Director, has imparted her expertise across multiple provinces in Canada, including as a dance adjudicator for various competitions and as a guest judge for the Venom Girls dance team. With over 30 years in the industry, she's earned recognition for her award-winning choreography and holds teaching certifications from prestigious institutions like the R.A.D. and A.D.A.P.T.

Dedicated to mentorship, Laeticia guides aspiring dance teachers and stays current through continued education across North America. Her credits span from professional performances in ballet and folk dance to collaborations with filmmakers. Beyond the studio, she choreographs for schools, summer intensives, and local events, fostering talent in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and street jazz.

Her students have graced stages at industry events and sports halftime shows, some even progressing to esteemed dance companies and ballet schools. Laeticia's teaching philosophy emphasizes technique, performance, discipline, and respect, nurturing a love for dance in students of all aspirations, whether recreational or professional. Grateful for her journey, she's ready to embark on her next adventure as a studio owner, eager to inspire dancers to reach their full potential.

Guest Faculty

CAROLYN McDONALD

Miss Carolyn grew up in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and began dancing at 7 years old. While learning dance she found her passion for hip hop as well as modern and musical theatre. Taking drama classes at camps and in university drew a further connection of these passions. She comes from a family of dancers, both parents taught and competed in ballroom dance, and was exposed to the world of dance from her early childhood.The roles of student then transitioned into teacher while learning from her modern mentor and realizing the joy she found in helping young dancers on their journey to improve both their dance skills as well as personal growth in confidence, independence, leadership, and compassion. This passion for dance has led students to achieve their goals as well as receiving awards and honours for most outstanding, and choreography. Beginning in 2014 she has taught, guest choreographed for schools and camps, as well as taken part in a music video. Miss Carolyn is certified in her Acrobatics M1 and is working towards her M2 summer of 2024. She is also working towards her ADAPT certification along with her modern through the CDTA.Miss Carolyn's philosophy for teaching is that regardless of your age or skill level when beginning your dance journey, the personal goals we set will always outweigh any medals or awards. She is very excited to join our team this year!

KENDALL SCOTT

CDTA Associate (Tap), Acrobatic Arts Module 1 and Preschool, Once Upon a Ballet Certified

Miss Kendall has been teaching for over 10 years, beginning her career at her hometown studio of Nipawin School of Dance. Taking her first dance class at age 3, Miss Kendall has never looked backed. Finding strength and growth by taking exams, she has her Advanced Tap and Jazz with C.D.T.A. and her Advanced 1 Ballet with R.A.D. Through her years of dancing and teaching she has experience in every style and has attained teaching certificates from C.D.T.A., Acrobatic Arts, and Once Upon a Ballet. Miss Kendall continues her training to this day, taking as many opportunities as she can to take classes, learn new teaching methods, and experience new choreography. Her award winning choreography has received recognition for its creativity and suitability to the dancers. Miss Kendall is an advocate for the health and well-being of her

dancers, firmly believing in doing what is best for the dancers.

Miss Kendall loves to share her passion for dance with her students and help them reach their full potential. Believing in having fun while working hard, she continues to develop new ways to inspire dancers to want to learn and work hard. Miss Kendall cannot wait to meet all our dancers!

SABRINA BOVEE

Sabrina Bovee is a an experienced dietitian, home-steader, and former dancer with a deep love for nutrition and wellness. Sabrina performed and competed as a child and young adult in many genres of dance. She also toured internationally with Yevshan Ukrainian dance ensemble giving her a unique perspective on the importance of nutrition for holistic wellness. As a dietitian focused on health promotion, Sabrina is dedicated to helping individuals achieve their best life through proper nutrition. She is excited about the role that food plays in overall wellness and exercise performance. Sabrina will be providing a couple of group nutrition sessions to our competitive dance team to support optimal performance. With her experience and passion for nutrition, she is sure to inspire and educate those looking to take their health and dance performance to the next level.
